Product Manager Corn & Sunflower

Location: Black Sea region

Mission:
Within the department of Marketing and Product Development, this position performs a very essential role in the development and evolution of corn & sunflower in the Blacksea region (in the markets of GR-BG-RO-UA-RU-TR). Responsibilities:

  • Determine the strategy for each crop and breeding objectives and product specifications at long term level. Key interaction with the different breeders and or suppliers to communicate market needs, size and information as well as trends and expected sales trends to better align breeding programs with the market needs.
  • Develop product trial plans with regional product development teams based upon market knowledge and objectives and assess trial results to determine product performance and life cycle.
  • Manage new product introductions in accordance with the strengths and weaknesses of existing product range, market potential, and competition pressure.
  • Collaborate and manage new products, new product concepts, and product development with the Breeders, Product Development and Sales.
  • Create and maintain working relationships with local product development and sales people in the target markets by providing sales with technical data in order to support optimal product performance and product sales.
  • Work with production management teams to effectively and efficiently manage seed availability for varieties at the development and commercial stage.
  • Maintain and improve product quality consistency via collaborative efforts between Production, Quality Control, Operations, Inventory Management and Seed Technology.
  • Optimize turnover and margin of managed products through supply chain expectations, sales potential evaluation and product pricing guidance.

Profile:

  • Degree in Agronomy or Agricultural Engineering/Science required.
  • A minimum of 5 years working experience in the corn-sunflower farming industry is necessary. Affinity with corn & sunflower and field work is a must.
  • Working in an international environment will require the candidate to be fluent at least in English and Russian.
  • Computer skills are also necessary to complete all functions.
  • The candidate will require good communication and organizational skills, ability to operate in the above mentioned region along with some degree of flexibility to coordinate and manage tasks and goals.
  • An adaptation to different cultures, styles and preferences of different key personnel with whom the candidate will interact will be essential to the success of the position.

Skills required:

  • Self-motivated individual, with a high level of time management, organizational skills and a creative aptitude.
  • Ability and willingness to work outdoors in adverse weather conditions.
  • Ability to initiate and lead the planning and analysis of market data, through constant communication and coordination with research, development, and sales teams, in order to evaluate main targets.
  • Project management ability needed. Regular travel is seasonally required.
