The Corn Research & Development department of Syngenta Italia is looking for, in the Cremona area a Product Evaluator Corn

The purpose of this role is to coordinate Product Evaluation (PE) activities for corn in Italy in relation with corn breeding, trialing department and product team. As Product Evaluator at a territory level you are responsible for an active and efficient interaction with the territory crop marketing team. Successful delivery of the role will result in high quality analyzed data to advance products and support decisions for product launching leading to a performing and profitable portfolio in Italy and support business across market segments.

Responsibilities :

• Evaluate, characterize, and recommend precise positioning of new corn varieties adapted to market needs within the Product Development department
• Have a good understanding of the technical and market expectations;
• Support the coordination of product evaluation activities reporting to the Corn Product Evaluation  Manager and working closely  with  European portfolio Manager  
• Participate in the continuous improvement of the product Evaluation by delivering a high level of phenotypic data collection and an adequate performance analysis report to build a competitive corn portfolio
• Contribute and support, by your expertise, the successful launch of new varieties, in cooperation with the  Marketing department

Requirements:                                                         

• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Agronomy
• 1-3 years of experience in evaluation or breeding  with focus preferably on corn
• Strong skills in agronomy and breeding principles  
• Deep and comprehensive knowledge of the  market and farmer needs
• Spending time in the field to build a proper product knowledge;
• Good IT skills
• Analytical capabilities, data management, good ability to synthetize
• Good skills to deliver and support simple and clear messages from complex data set
• Fluent in English
• Self-sufficient and excellent time management skills
• Availability to frequent travels (25%)
