For one of the research sites, located in the North of France, we are looking to recruit a Breeding Manager.

Under the authority of the Department Research Director, the Breeding Manager will be responsible for supervising the breeding programs of 4 different species in France. You will contribute to their profitability and maximize performance.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Manage and motivate your Breeder team
• Support, as wise counsellor, the technical, scientific or methodological aspects of breeding
• Recommend and coordinate research to improve program efficiency; follow through the current cooperation; suggest improvement on breeding pattern, and the use of modern technologies
• Coordinate research efforts with the Heads of Biotechnology and Genetics Units
• Ensure the monitoring of scientific and technological development
• Contribute to the database management system.

Core Business/Functional Skills and Education

• MS or Ph.D. in Plant Breeding, Agronomy, Genetics, Crop Science or related field of study
• Experience in breeding (10 years) • Good English, French verbal and written skills
• Team leadership and supervisory experience - Ability to communicate effectively
• Ability to take personal initiative
• Organizational skills – Reactivity – Flexible
• Ability to identify and determine problems, analyze information and implement solutions
• Computer skills are required
