Research Assistant Biostatistics

Location: Nunhem, The Netherlands

In the division Research & Development the BioStatistics team works on the development and application of statistical tools and procedures for the Molecular-Breeding and Breeding departments of Bayer Cropscience - Vegetable Seeds.

For the Biostatistics team, Bayer CropScience – Vegetable seeds is looking for ambitious candidates for the fulltime position of : Research assistant biostatistics

To be located at our site in Haelen, the Netherlands

Your mission as Research Assistant Biostatistics

The Research Assistant Biostatistics’ main responsibility will be providing support with respect to experimental design, data analysis, and model development. In addition to this, the Research Assistant will be involved in the transformation of customized scripts and functions into generic applications. The successful candidate has a thorough understanding of plant breeding or biology. The Biostatistics team has an international character and works in close collaboration with other teams within Bayer CropScience.

Your main responsibilities :

  • • Provide consultancy with respect to experimental design and data analysis; • Develop R-scripts and functions for generic application within the organization; • Prioritize between different projects • Challenge current practices and develop ideas for improvement accordingly;

You are a professional with :

  • • Master degree (Must) in Plant breeding, Animal Breeding or Statistics in general or related field;
  • • Preferably 1-2 years of work experience in an R&D environment;
  • • Experience with experimental design, statistical analysis, model development;
  • • Experience with the R-programming language (Must);
  • • Preferably knowledge of Shiny, the R web-interface framework;
  • • Fluent in English, both verbally and in writing;
  • • Good communication skills, able to communicate on different levels;
