About the company

Our client is among the world leading companies in vegetable seed business. The company has continuously increased its Research and Development investments in Europe. Therefore, in order to meet the increasing demands of the markets at the EMEA level, we are looking to recruit a Product Manager, reporting to the Department of Product Development and Marketing.

Main Goal

Your main responsibility consists in defining the crop strategy and ensuring yourself of the realization of the crop business plan and marketing mix. As a real conductor, you head up daily the commercial introduction of varieties, sharing the market knowledge with the breeders and participating to their breeding program’s objectives, organizing the screening of varieties with the trial officers, providing the Sales force with continuous pipeline of products at the right place, in the right amount and bringing technical information to clients.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Interact with the different breeders and suppliers to communicate market information and trends to better align breeding programs with the market needs 
• Assess trial results for the evaluation and development of new pre-commercial varieties and preparation for commercial introduction of the variety
• Manage for any variety lifecycle the spreading of each concerned crop (Cauliflower, Pepper and Cucumber). This includes coordination between sales needs and seed production within seed production costs and seed availability
• Traveling extensively across the region (around 30% to 50% of the time, depending on the location), working with the dedicated sales teams and distributors,
• Coordinate communication plan for each concerned crop along with the Marketing team.

Core Business/Functional Skills and Education

• Agronomic/Horticulture Engineer degree with more than 5 years working experience
• Understanding of Brassica (through an experience in sales, production or development)
• Ability for plant evaluation
• Business understanding
• Strategy development
• Ability to communicate effectively in an multicultural environment
• Proactive engagement, self-motivated individual, with a high level of time management, organizational skills and a creative aptitude
• Reactivity - Speed - Multitask - Flexible – Accuracy
• English and computer skills are demanded.
