Position Description

• Practical field breeding position
• Breeding focus with basic research support
• Working within professional ProGene team

Key Responsibilities

• Crossing design and crossing
• Generation advancement in both US and NZ
• Selecting
• Testing through trialing system in 6 states - both company, partner and universities
• Managing all company nurseries
• Supervise support staff

Partner working relationships

• Variety evaluation partners in Washington, Idaho, Montana and North Dakota
• Breeding Partner in New Zealand
• Stock Seed/Research partner in Moscow, Idaho
• Interaction with dry pea processors in 5 state region

Qualifications

• Bachelor or Masters degree in plant breeding, agriculture or associated science discipline
• Strong interest in genetics and variety development
• Field and greenhouse research experience of applicant would be a strong asset
