Job description

Global technical expert in soil microbial / Rhizosphere products for Mycorrhizal Applications (MA) for agriculture / horticulture / non crop markets. Responsible to provide technical and product support to MA, SCC affiliates, channel partners and end user customers as appropriate in order to realize sales. Position interacts across MA, VBC, and SCC functional groups, including MA management, Marketing, Sales and R&D. Set up commercial development activities in order to create the demand for Mycorrhizal Applications (MA).

Principal Responsibilities:

• Provide technical support and training for the MA product line to the marketing, sales and R&D groups of the SCC sales affiliates.
• Establish relationships with university researchers and extension agents, private consultants, PCA’s and end users in order to educate and demonstrate the technical and commercial fit of MA products.
• Work in alliance with the SCC and VBC development groups in optimizing the use patterns of MA products in agriculture and horticulture industries. 
• Anticipate and analyze new business opportunities for MA products to drive sales growth.
• Work with MA, VBC and SCC affiliate marketing groups in the development of presentations, collateral and other promotional literature for MA products.
• Represent MA at technical symposiums, industry conferences and trade shows.
• Working in coordination with VBC, assure complete execution of field demonstration trials including field visits, reports and presentations

Desired Skills and Experience

Experience: Minimum of 5 – 10 years experience in R&D / technical support, commercial development and demand creation of agricultural crop production products, including soil microbial / Rhizosphere products. Specific experience in Mycorrhizae Fungi and Rhizosphere technology will be desired. Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional team.

Education: MS degree in Agriculture / Biological Science and/or BS plus MBA in the Agricultural, Biological, or Chemical Sciences.

Other:  Work closely with the VBC business management and SCC sales / marketing groups to gain an understanding of market needs, value creation dynamics and competitive landscape in the microbial Rhizosphere markets.

Domestic/International Travel: 50%
