The vacancy for a Business Manager Asia at Rijk Zwaan

Rijk Zwaan has various activities in the South, South-East and East Asia region. We have a subsidiary in India, work with several distributors and have our own area managers and product development specialists to support the growers.
In this international role you will have overall responsibility for this area, together with one other Business Manager. You will guide all activities in the territory, including strategy, planning, sales, investments and personnel. In close cooperation with the Board of Directors you will develop and implement commercial and company policy. You will maintain and intensify the contact with customers and business relations in the marketplace. In collaboration with the breeding department you will ensure that there is sufficient creation of new varieties and traits for the region. You will have an important people-oriented role in building and maintaining a well-functioning team. You will report to the Board of Directors.

We are seeking a Business Manager Asia with:

• an academic degree, preferably in the area of Business or Agriculture
• at least 10 years’ relevant experience in an international environment
• a strong affinity with and/or work experience in agriculture
• willingness to travel extensively (80 - 100 days on an annual basis)
• a good command of the English language.

Furthermore you are an energetic, enterprising, commercial manager. You take initiative, are resourceful, ambitious and you like to cooperate with your colleagues to obtain an optimal result. You feel comfortable operating as an entrepreneur within our organization. Good social skills and the ability to establish and develop contacts and relations in diverse cultures are indispensable for this function.
