RESPONSIBILITIES

Manage and Coordinate production activities at the production farms and in the farmer network:

• Lead & drive safe practices in the field & ensure that all the local contractors/vendors & organizers are abiding the statutory requirements.
• Manage and coordinate commercial and stock seed productions, as well as other support activities at the home farm (GOT plot maintenance, production trials…)
• Ensure that the ordered seed is delivered on time with consistent high quality seed by directly supervising Home Farm Manager and Network Managers in India
• Keep high standard communication with Supply Chain Manager India, HM-Clause international seed supply managers
• Coordinate the activities between the production sub-departments (home farm, network) Stock Seed management:
• Manage Stock Seed production planning, stock seed production cycle and Stock Seed inventory
• Control Stock Seed purity
• Follow-up of Stock seed production of varieties contracted for Clause India with international Vendors & ensure timely arrival in co-ordination with Purchase administration department.
• Coordinate with breeding to obtain foundation seeds
• Handle production related administrative work
• Supervise and control production expenses and grower and supplier payment
• Propose and follow-up production budget with Supply Chain Manager India.
• Researching and Implementing strategies for Clause India seed production activity
• Structure North India production activities and team on the basis of realistic crop and volume projections
• Structure and develop the production administration team (data management, grower payments); develop new tools for production management if necessary, and improve the connectivity of the production offices
• Improvement of production facilities
• Drive the implementation of new projects (technical improvements or continuous improvements in improving productivity/ease of production & reducing COGs)
• Explore and develop new suitable areas for vegetable seed production in India

CANDIDATE PROFILE:

• People Management: should have been a people manager for at least 5 years or more in a similar role.
• Technical qualification : In-depth knowledge of Indian seed production business, budget and expense management
• Excellent IT skills a must (MS Word, Excel, Outlook and general computer skills)
• Language: Fluent in English and Hindi and preferably Kannada speaking

EDUCATION:

M.Sc Agriculture or equivalent

EXPERIENCE:

MIN. 5 yrs experience in similar role. Overall 10 or more of experience in seed industry.
