HMCLAUSE, a company of the LIMAGRAIN Group (6000 employees), is specialized in research, production and sales of vegetable and flowers seeds to professionals. HMCLAUSE employs around 1 200 persons all over the world and achieves a turn over which is better year after year. On the occasion of its development, HMCLAUSE is searching a Regional Production Manager in order to fulfill the HM CLAUSE’s production plans in the Asia region (China, India, Southeast Asia) in quantity, quality and timeliness.

POSITION DESCRIPTION SUMMARY:

The RPM Asia contributes to the definition of the production tactics for the BU in the region, implements the annual production plans as defined by the seed suppliers, manages existing assets and staff, provides close supervision of production, and proposes new regional alternatives.

This position is based in Bangkok (Thailand).

Essentials duties and responsibilities:

• Management of the BU’s home farms and associated staff in the region: China (Linze), India (Rannebenur)
• Management of local farmer’s networks
• In relation with seed suppliers, definition of crop allocation between areas and vendors as well as general business terms (price & quality)
• Day-to-day direct on site crop supervision, technical input and reporting
• In relation with seed suppliers, definition and implementation of all necessary technical experimentation aiming at improving seed productivity and quality
• Responsible for gathering, compiling and sharing general information related to vegetable seed production activities in the region: regulations, logistics issues, competition, vendor’s activities and development, pricing, etc.
• Member of the BU’s Production Management Committee; as such, contribution to the definition of the global production strategy.
• Responsible for exploring new regional alternatives: areas, vendors, methods, etc…

Required knowledge & Skills

• Background in seed business
• Ability to manage in a multi-cultural environment
• English-speaking
• Practice of one or several regional languages a significant plus

Education & work experience required:

• BS in Agriculture minimum, MS preferred
• 5 years minimum of experience in vegetable seed

Miscellaneous:

• Reports to : VP Production / Operations Valence hub
• Supervisory responsibilities : 2 (India country production manager and China home farm manager)
• Internal relations: For each hub: seed suppliers, global production administrator, traffic manager, quality control, accounts payable.
• External relations: local grower base, production vendors, local seed industry organizations, country regulation authorities
