An integrated international humanitarian relief and developmental organisation, which is non-profit, non-political and non-governmental.
Founded during 2000 by an ad hoc international group of concerned scientists, engineers, farmers and technicians wishing to strengthen on-line networking interfaces of seed and
agricultural science and technology including the mechanisation and instrumentation of applied research and production.
The group had previously provided informally, production-oriented back-up research and production support globally to the public and private sectors of 130 countries including developed and developing economies. This support covered emergency relief, rehabilitation and development assistance as well as routine production. SEMEC brings together this experience as a basis for
developing a new era of business and philanthropic co-operation and development made possible through rapid growth of the Internet at affordable prices.
SEMEC is (being) registered in New Zealand under the Charitable Trusts Act of 1957, to be operated as an
incorporated society with an international mandate. |
