Becker Underwood introduces Flo Rite 1197, new plantability polymer

Ames, Iowa, USA
August 31, 2009

Becker Underwood, Inc. today announced its newest plantability polymer. Built on the company’s Flo Rite® technology platform, new Flo Rite 1197 was developed to improve on the multiple benefits of Flo Rite 1085.

Flo Rite 1197 offers faster dry down time and less accumulation on seed transport surfaces. It provides improved dust off suppression plus enhanced seed flow in conditioning facilities. In addition, new Flo Rite 1197 delivers improved plantability, better seed coverage and enhanced seed appearance.

“Flo Rite® 1197 also has several unique properties that allow it to be mixed directly in the slurry tank where it can be simultaneously applied with active seed treatment components and a Color Coat™ color of choice,” notes Stephanie Zumbach, product manager. “Time and money is saved since multiple pumps, polymers or applications are not required. No talc or additional polymers are required, either, although we also always advocate following planter equipment manufacturer guidelines.”

Flo Rite® 1197 has been approved for use by Syngenta Seed Care on corn seed treated for the 2010 planting season. Cruiser Extreme® 250, Cruiser Extreme® 1250 and Avicta® Complete Corn seed treatments will have Flo Rite® 1197 as a recommended polymer.

Becker Underwood, Inc., founded in 1982, is an international developer of bio-agronomic and specialty products. In addition to being the leading manufacturer of seed coatings and colorants, the company is also the leading global producer of inoculants, beneficial nematodes, and a wide range of agricultural and horticultural products.
