Beating herbicide resistance

With herbicide resistant grass weeds being confirmed in more and more regions across Australia, it’s essential that grain growers use integrated weed management (IWM) techniques to minimise their spread and retain the effectiveness of current herbicides.
A fact sheet has been released by the Grains Research and Development Corporation (GRDC), outlining the extent of the problem and some of the solutions.
It highlights the importance of keeping accurate records of weed populations and herbicide applications; rotating mode-of-action (MOA) groups of chemicals; and reading product labels carefully and following instructions.
