DATA’s first Multi Channel counting system begins operating at Zeraim Gedera (Syngenta Israel)

After years of expectation, the seed industry has finally seen the development of a technology that can accurately and quickly enable seed manufacturers to package seeds according to an exact number. This technology has enabled the release of a simple solution which enables seed manufacturers to move from the traditional limited weighing packaging systems to advanced counting systems. The cost-effective system is not limited by counting speed and can pack dozens of seed packages per minute according to the seeds manufacture’s demands.
Recently, DATA’s first Multi channel counting system, the DATA Count S 660, integrated with Packline’s PDP- 4 was successfully installed at the Zeraim Gadera Production Center. To handle a production center of this size, previous solutions would require several machines and more than 100 channels through which the seeds would need to pass in order to be counted and packaged. By contrast, the DATA solution enabled Zeraim Gadera to process their stock with only six channels encompassed in one machine, the DATA Count S 660. With this single machine in place, Zeraim is now packing in exact counts of 1,000 pepper/tomato seeds at a rate of 30-42 bags per minute.
After becoming part of the Syngenta Group, Zeraim Gadera began looking for possible solutiosn that would enable them to replace their weighing-based system that limited and slowed packaging production. The company wanted to be able to pack numerous seed packages per minute, accurately and quickly. The company evaluated a few alternative solutions, similar to DATA’s multi-channel counting system, as well as combinatory scale systems. After turning to DATA Technologies and evaluating DATA Count product line, Zeraim Gadera selected DATA Technology’s solution from among all the competition because it combined both unlimited speed and uncompromising accuracy levels.
DATA technologies counting systems are well known in the diamond and jewelry industry. In the first quarter of 2009, when a downturn in the economy adversely affected the diamond and gem stone industry, it became obvious that the company would benefit by applying its counting solutions to other industries and fields that could benefit from its advanced counting systems. That revolution has already begun, Yuval continues, with the Zeraim Gadera production plant and others who are evaluating DATA Techologies solutions.
