America's alfalfa offers new Traffic Tested Genuity Roundup Ready alfalfa variety

Nampa, Idaho, USA
February 14, 2011

AmeriStand 433T RR, a new Traffic Tested® Genuity® Roundup Ready® alfalfa (RRA) variety is now available for alfalfa growers. This addition to the America’s Alfalfa line-up offers 3 to 4 cuts of high quality alfalfa with tolerance to Roundup® herbicides for improved weed management in dairy hay operations.

“The new AmeriStand 433T RR is another example of how America’s Alfalfa is committed to bringing durable and highly productive varieties to the growers for better profitability,” says Dwight Tuttle, National Brand Manager for America’s Alfalfa. “AmeriStand 433T RR gives growers superior quality and yield comparable to the popular conventional Traffic Tested® variety AmeriStand 403T Plus. AmeriStand 433T RR is an excellent choice for top milk production.”

AmeriStand 433T RR is rated very winterhardy at 2.5 with a fall dormancy of 3.3. It has excellent yield and forage quality potential. Along with it’s Traffic Tested® genetics, it recovers fast after each cutting and has excellent stress tolerance. AmeriStand 433T RR has a high resistance to four yield robbing diseases of bacterial wilt, anthracnose (Race 1), Phytophthora root rot and Aphynomyces root rot (Race 1).

In Iowa trials, AmeriStand 433T RR averaged more pounds of milk per acre than HybriForce 400 and Pioneer 54V54. In the study, AmeriStand 433T RR yielded 22,864 pounds of milk from 8.20 tons of alfalfa. It was one of the top six varieties in that category for a trial that included more than 24 varieties.
