Syngenta Crop Protection UK Ltd has announced the UK approval for Seguris - its new, next generation fungicide based on IZM (isopyrazam) for use in winter wheat, as well as in winter and spring barley, rye and triticale.

This follows receipt of official approval from the Chemicals Regulation Directorate, says Syngenta UK cereal fungicide manager, Paul Varney.

"Seguris combines the new fungicide IZM co-formulated with the triazole fungicide epoxiconazole," says Mr Varney. "It gives growers a powerful solution against major foliar wheat disease threats."

The approval of Seguris marks the second approval for an IZM product in the UK. The first was in the barley fungicide Bontima (IZM + cyprodinil), which was launched successfully to growers last March.
