Premier accounting software firm inks deal with leading Agronomy program

Hutchinson, Kansas, USA
October 11, 2011

AgTrax Technologies continues to shake things up in the agribusiness accounting software arena by announcing a partnership with the popular suite of agronomy modules available from AgWorks. The two companies plan an integration that will simplify the data transfer from one program to the other, but until that is complete, the two plan to promote each other’s wares.

AgTrax has promised its customer base an enhanced Agronomy program to compliment its best in category ERP platform and after months of evaluation, has inked a deal with the Agronomy program provider based in Davenport, IA.

“AgTrax is the industry leader in commodity accounting software and the tools that cater to grain and other categories in any agribusiness, however Agronomy is not at the core of what we do,” Gary Hobbs- President of AgTrax explains.

“Our customer base has requested additional functionality on the agronomic front and we realize that if we are going to continue our rapid growth pattern in the agribusiness market space, we need to offer a full suite of agronomy tools to complement the rest of the AgTrax platform,” Hobbs continues. “AgWorks is well known in the agribusiness market, has a solid, scalable, user friendly program that will only enhance what our customers are doing with AgTrax today- helping them increase services provided in their own trade territory.”

Currently, the two software programs have a basic interface that allows users to export work orders created in AgWorks to a file that can be imported by AgTrax. Eventually the two platforms will be integrated more closely allowing seamless movement of data from either program.

“With the ongoing migration to a graphical user interface, this deal only underscores our commitment to an enhanced product offering,” Mr. Hobbs says, “a new corporate philosophy regarding our approach to the market has opened the door to agreements with third party platforms like AgWorks. A creative product development direction couple with increased brand name awareness in AgTrax is generating tremendous interest in the company and we’re excited about the future.”

AgTrax offers an array of comprehensive, reliable software programs and complete systems designed specifically for grain elevators, fertilizer companies, cooperatives, ethanol plants, feed stores, agronomy service providers, petroleum providers and other types of businesses in agriculture.

AgWorks is committed to providing innovative software products that manage all aspects of the retail agronomy supply business including, but not limited to, field applications, shipments, DOT compliance, fleet management, precision mapping, sales management, seed inventory and diverse reporting capabilities.
