Rijk Zwaan in Berlin: a focus on worldwide vegetable consumption

Rijk Zwaan is opting for a unique approach at the Fruit Logistica this year: the breeding company’s stand will revolve around Lovemysalad.com, the social salad network and nominee for the Fruit Logistica Innovation Award 2012.

On Love my Salad, consumers and professionals come together to inspire each other with their passion for vegetables. Rijk Zwaan has launched this platform as a way of helping to increase vegetable consumption. Fruit Logistica will mark the first time that the company has presented the concept to its business partners on a large scale.

Love my Salad
On Lovemysalad.com, consumers can find, amongst other things, grower profiles, chefs’ preparation tips and recipes from salad-lovers from around the world. For the first time, there is now a place where professionals and consumers can interact, discussing topics ranging from varieties and cultivation methods to tastes and serving suggestions: information that can give companies important input for their business. Love My Salad makes optimum use of social media channels such as Twitter and Facebook.

Inspiration
Auke Ferwerda, Marketing Manager at Rijk Zwaan: “Rather than focusing on one particular product or product line, we’ve made a conscious decision this year to highlight the opportunities presented by vegetables and salads in general.
