Arysta LifeScience Corporation and Laboratoires Goëmar sign a mutual distribution agreement on biostimulants and biocontrol technologies in selected regions

Paris, France
December 20, 2013

Arysta LifeScience Corporation and Laboratoires Goëmar announce today the conclusion of two agreements to develop and distribute Biostimulants and Biocontrol products. Under the first agreement, Arysta LifeScience will have exclusivity for several Goëmar products related to Physio Activator® Technology and Natural Protect® Technology. Under the second agreement Laboratoires Goëmar will have exclusivity for several Arysta LifeScience products related to Biostimulants and Biocontrol technologies. The two contracts also provide the possibility to expand cooperation to new technologies under development.

Specifically, Arysta LifeScience acquires exclusive rights for identified products to operate in Central Europe (Poland, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Romania, Baltic Countries and Hungary) and the Commonwealth of Independent States (Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, Moldova and Kazakhstan). Laboratoires Goëmar acquires exclusivity to develop and distribute ATONIK® in France, and access to Arysta LifeScience Biostimulant and Biocontrol products in France plus other countries in Western Europe.

“This mutual agreement is the result of a long, fruitful relationship between our companies,” said Kevin Smith, CEO of Arysta LifeScience SAS and business unit head of Europe for Arysta LifeScience. “It strengthens the presence of Arysta LifeScience in this market segment with access to modern technologies. Customers may expect ‘tailor-made’ technologies delivering benefits to various crops.”

“These contracts, combining technologies and market presence strengths of both companies, should facilitate broader farmer access to innovative sustainable solutions for their crops, accelerate Goëmar sales growth in Central and Eastern Europe, and offer Goëmar sales force and customers a broader portfolio of solutions,” said Jean-Pierre Princen, CEO Laboratoires Goëmar.

Goëmar Technologies
Physio Activator Technology is based on seaweed filtrates and activates main mechanisms put in place by the plant to absorb elements from the soil and activates flowering hormones essential throughout fruit setting and early development of the fruit.
Natural Protect Technology refers to trade name Vacciplant® containing laminarin, which stimulates natural plant defense mechanisms. In 2005, Laminarin was registered based on Plant Protection regulation as Crop Protection Products in EU (Annex I, Directive 11/07/2009/EC). After various registrations obtained in Western and Southern Europe and in the U.S., registration in Poland is expected in 2013 with full commercialization by 2014 initially on apples, pears, strawberries and tomatoes.

Arysta LifeScience Products
ATONIK is a unique plant biostimulant based on synthetic nitrophenols. The active ingredients of ATONIK were registered in February 2009 as crop protection products in the EU (Annex I, Directive 11/07/2009/EC). Since 2009, intensive work on post-inclusion maintenance has been in progress in many countries. Expected registration in France is scheduled by 2014 and commercialization by 2015 initially on arable crops.
The Arysta LifeScience Biostimulant System contains three biostimulants: BIOZYME® for generative development; FOLTRON® for vegetative growth; and PILATUS® for root system establishment.

History of Cooperation
Since 2000, Goëmar and Nichimen Corporation, the ancestor of Arysta LifeScience, have worked together to develop successful sales of products especially in Poland and other Central European countries (Slovakia, Czech Republic and Hungary).
