Serenade Max now supplied by Bayer CropScience in New Zealand

The global acquisition of AgraQuest late last year by Bayer has resulted in Serenade Max is now being marketed by Bayer CropScience in New Zealand.

BCS New Zealand Country Manager Holger Detje is pleased about the new Bayer Biologics product range now available in New Zealand and the pipeline of products for the future.

"We are delighted to enter the Biologics market in New Zealand which allows us to offer biological solutions to complement our already existing portfolio ," says Holger Detje, Country Manager for Bayer CropScience New Zealand. Holger adds “It is exciting as we see Biologics have a particular fit in New Zealand as a key horticultural and agricultural export market and will play a vital role in integrated crop management in a variety of crops.”

Serenade® Max is a bio-fungicide which helps growers to suppress or control fungal and bacterial diseases in a number of crops such as grapes, pipfruit and kiwifruitIt contains a unique, patented strain of the bacteria Bacillus subtilis and has three classes of lipopeptides to control fungal disease pathogens, it also produces anti-bacterial compounds to control a range of important bacterial diseases of crops.

Marketing Manager Horticulture Chris Miln explains: "Serenade Max already has a position in the grape and kiwifruit market and Bayer CropScience New Zealand intends to rapidly develop and introduce new Biologics products to the market."

Chris adds “Serenade Max has an excellent fit for late season use in grapes for the control of botrytis and sour rot as it has a 1 day pre-harvest interval and does not leave residues.”
