Dow AgroSciences aligns sales force for growth - Expanded sales organization will serve customers with greater focus

Indianapolis, Indiana, USA
August 27, 2013

Dow AgroSciences LLC announced today a new alignment of its sales organization in the Southern United States to provide additional focus and specialization for its fast-growing portfolio of crop protection, seeds and trait technologies.

Effective immediately, the company is establishing separate sales forces for its crop protection and seed businesses. Dedicated crop protection and seed sales teams will allow Dow AgroSciences to better serve its customers from New Mexico to the Mid-Atlantic. Previously, Dow AgroSciences sales representatives in this region supported both crop protection and seed portfolios. The new alignment will support the Southern expansion of Mycogen Seeds and continue to grow the Dow AgroSciences crop protection portfolio.

In addition, the company announced it will combine its range and pasture business with the industrial vegetation management sales force to serve customers across the country. The new configuration will allow for better integration within these specialized markets.

As part of this alignment plan, Dow AgroSciences will add new sales territories, agronomists and other personnel to support the expanded sales potential. The goal is to provide greater focus, enhanced customer service and accelerated growth for new product concepts and offerings.

“Dow AgroSciences continues to experience rapid growth through a successful business strategy, expansion of our existing product portfolios and the most robust R&D pipeline in the company’s history,” says Stan Howell, Vice President, North America, Dow AgroSciences. “This sales force alignment will allow us to deliver game-changing technology with an even higher level of service to diverse and important crop markets.”

Howell notes that Dow AgroSciences is already serving customers successfully with separate crop protection and seed sales organizations in other regions of the country.

Going forward, the Southern crop protection sales force will focus on delivering new and emerging technologies for weed, insect and nematode control in row crops and specialty markets. Dow AgroSciences seed representatives will sell PhytoGen® cottonseed and both Mycogen® and Triumph® brand seeds in corn, soybean, sunflower, sorghum and forage markets.

“Agriculture has always been a people-to-people business, and it takes the right people in the right places to make progress,” Howell says. “The Southern crop market is diverse and constantly changing, and the range and pasture and industrial vegetation management businesses have specialized needs. This alignment change helps us to more effectively deliver the innovation and technology that our customers need.”
