SpectraSeed - Future standards for quality analysis

Slagelse, Denmark
September 12, 2013

The SpectraSeed project aims at creating a new technology platform for fast, cost-efficient and non-destructive analysis of seed quality. Involved technology is targeted to be used within the malting and seed industry. A platform will be built within the next 3 years through comprehensive research and development (R&D) which is on its way to a successful realization.

The potential for using this new technology platform in the seed processing line will be evaluated and developed by Westrup, involving both scientific and technical personnel.

“The scope of the project is to set new standards for fast, cost-efficient and non-destructive analysis of seed quality“ - Bjørn Jensen, R&D Coordinator.

Funding of the SpectraSeed by the Danish National Advanced Technology Foundation is a sign of acknowledgement of the innovative and unique idea behind this project. Basis for the project is collaboration between Aarhus University, Videometer A/S, DLF-TRIFOLIUM A/S, Danish Malting Group A/S, Jensen Seeds A/S, Vikima Seed A/S and Westrup A/S.

Westrup contributes with a unique expertise in the area of seed processing, and test facilities to set new standards for automation of seed cleaning and processing equipment.
