Tomra Sorting Food, a worldwide leader of sensor based sorting technologies has entered into an agreement valued at approximately $3.5 million for 2013, to supply sensor based sorting solutions to a Fortune 500 provider of agricultural products. The agreement is a multi-year contract with similar orders projected for 2014 and beyond, for optical sorting equipment for seed corn processing plants in Brazil, Argentina, Turkey, Hungary, and France.

The ODENBERG ZEA (pictured) is a new sensor based sorter for seed corn producers to inspect and sort ears of corn by husk, defect, disease and size. It is the ideal efficiency, quality and cost reduction tool for processors where capacity, husk and defect sorts are critical. Another significant factor in winning this order is TOMRA’s global support network with the ability to provide local support where seed corn is processed.
