INCOTEC introduces x-ray upgrading for pepper seeds

Enkhuizen, The Netherlands
March 5, 2014

With the introduction of X-ray Improver Pepper, the new innovative product for pepper seed upgrading, INCOTEC is providing the extremely demanding market with the answer to the increasing quality requirements which have been putting pressure on pepper growers and seed producers in recent years.

INCOTEC was the first company to provide this X-ray seed upgrading commercially. The development of this technology to include upgrading for pepper seeds follows years of successful application in the tomato and rootstock tomato seed markets. This success encouraged research into the possibilities for other crops. After a thorough trial period the company is once again breaking new ground with the introduction of X-ray upgrading for pepper seeds.

This fully automated upgrading system uses X-rays to image the properties of each seed individually. The software, especially developed by INCOTEC, then analyzes and grades each seed’s potential before separating the high quality seed from the poor quality seed. This system is fast and reliable with no risks involved.

The pepper seed market is becoming one of the most demanding seed markets. Small as well as large breeders and producers are finding it increasingly difficult to comply with the quality demands. The financial investments are high and entail high economic risks. X-ray Improver Pepper provides growers with a tool to upgrade seeds to the required quality standards or even better - to top quality seed. This is exactly the answer this sector has been eagerly waiting for.
