Following the announcement that Lantmännen, the parent company of Swalof Weibull, Oilseeds (SWO) is selling its winter oilseed rape breeding programme to Syngenta, Elsoms Seeds is delighted to announce that they will continue to market the newly HGCA Recommended variety Trinity and the exciting early maturing NL2 listed variety Elgar along with other oilseed rape varieties from the programme currently in official trials.
Adrian Hayler, Elsoms Seeds Agricultural Sales Manager said “We are delighted to be able to market Trinity this year and Elgar in 2015, both from the SWO programme. Trinity has shown superb potential in the UK and feedback from growers and consultants at the recent Cereals event has been excellent.
Bob Miles, Elsoms Seeds Agricultural Director said “We will no longer breed oil seed rape at Elsoms, however, this change will allow us to continue with a strong presence in the oilseed marketplace whilst working extremely closely with our key suppliers in a wide range of agricultural crops. Our extensive agricultural portfolio includes wheat from Elsoms Wheat Ltd, linseed and more recently a range of energy crops such as beet and hybrid rye.
