Alforex Seeds General Manager Paul Frey will retire in the fall, turning the company’s leadership reins over to Ron Cornish, who currently serves as the company’s North American marketing and commercial leader.

Frey said he expects the transition in leadership to be seamless. “Ron and I have enjoyed working together and being involved in Alforex Seeds’ emergence as a leader in the alfalfa and forage seed business,” Frey said. “I am confident that Ron’s leadership will advance Alforex’s vision to become the global leader for alfalfa and forage seed.”

The leadership transition will be completed in the next several months during which Alforex Seeds looks forward to announcing new solutions to address the needs of forage producers and dairymen around the globe. “Alforex is poised to launch new alfalfa varieties in 2014, and Paul and I will work together to coordinate and introduce the expanded offerings to Alforex customers,” said Cornish.

A graduate of Iowa State University, Cornish studied agricultural business and agronomy. Prior to joining Alforex, Ron held several roles in sales and marketing and product support for
Dow AgroSciences and its affiliated seed companies, including Dairyland Seed. He became part of the Alforex team following the acquisition of Cal West by Dow AgroSciences in 2012, and the company’s subsequent name change to Alforex. “Alforex Seeds’ affiliation with Dow AgroSciences provides access to world-class systems, technologies and solutions we can apply to meet the needs of hay, livestock and milk producers in market geographies around the globe,” said Cornish.

Frey looks forward to returning to his roots in Iowa following his retirement. “My family has supported me and helped me fulfill my career goals. It’s time for me to return to Iowa and give some of my time back to them,” said Frey in a letter to customers.

Both Frey and Cornish have served on the National Alfalfa and Forage Alliance board of directors.

Alforex Seeds focuses on developing and delivering alfalfa and forage solutions that help hay, livestock and milk producers maximize the profitability of their operations. Through its affiliation with Dow AgroSciences, Alforex Seeds offers customers access to world-class systems, technologies and solutions.

Dow AgroSciences, based in Indianapolis, Indiana, USA, is committed to discovering, developing, and bringing to market crop protection and plant biotechnology solutions for the growing world. Dow AgroSciences is a wholly owned subsidiary of The Dow Chemical Company and had annual global sales of $7.1 billion in 2013.
