New agreement with Grain Millers is good news for FP Genetics shareholders

Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada
March 25, 2014

FP Genetics is pleased to announce that an agreement has been signed with Grain Millers Inc., for production contracts tied to the purchase of Certified AC® Summit white milling oat seed. This partnership will assist both organizations in the promotion of production contracts within the industry.

“This is a great opportunity for our pedigreed seed business,” said Denise Schmidt, Senior Territory Manager at FP Genetics. “This agreement will promote the use of high quality certified seed by growers and ensure the highest quality production for the end user. Selling directly to the processor delivers the best return for our customers and in turn this brings high quality products to the end user.”

FP Genetics will assist Grain Millers in developing opportunities by utilizing co-promotions and sales opportunities through our shareholder network. This partnership with FP Genetics and Grain Millers Inc. is another step towards creating value added opportunities for the growers of AC® Summit white milling oats.

“In general, we are in support of programs that encourage oat growers to plant certified seed and capitalize on advances in oat genetics,” says Terry Tyson, Grain Procurement Manager of Grain Millers Canada Corp. “Specifically, AC® Summit has performed very well in our area, with good agronomics, milling quality, and nutritional make-up, so that when FP Genetics proposed the agreement, we considered it a win for all stakeholders.”
