Mycogen Seeds introduces new corn hybrids, soybean varieties in U.S. Midsouth for 2015

Mycogen Seeds is introducing new Mycogen® brand corn hybrids and soybean varieties featuring advanced trait technologies and agronomic characteristics to meet the needs of Midsouth growers. The product lineup for the 2015 growing season includes corn hybrids with SmartStax® and Roundup Ready 2 Yield® soybean varieties.

“Our robust lineup of corn and soybean products for 2015 is a direct result of our continued focus on breeding and performance,” says Derek Racca, southern product manager for Mycogen Seeds. “We recognize the challenges Midsouth growers face, and we are excited to offer them new solutions in our industry-leading technologies and genetics.”
 
Featured new corn hybrids for the Midsouth
 
2Y744 is a 113-day Roundyp Ready® hybrid with excellent emergence and early vigor. 2Y744 features solid stalks, excellent roots and large flex eaer for top-end yields. This new hybrid performs very well on your highly managed acres and in favorable environments.
 
2H877 is a 117-day SmartStax hybrid that is broadly adapted to the Midsouth. With good late-season intactness and staygreen, this hybrid consistently performs in both high-yield and stressful environments.
 
2D848 is a 118-day SmartStax hybrid with good late-season intactness and staygreen. 2D848 is a good yield performer in loam soil types, following soybeans and in conventional and no-till systems.
 
Featured new soybean varieties for the Midsouth
 
5N413R2 features stem canker resistance that helps with southern movement. This Group 4 variety is a tall plant that works well in lighter soils and in areas where sudden death syndrome is a problem.
 
5N432R2 is a Group 4 variety with strong emergence for no-till and early planting. 5N432R2 works well in many soil types and all row widths. This variety has very good tolerance to phytophthora root rot.
 
5N452R2 offers great yield potential in the Midsouth. This Group 4 variety is a branching plant with a good defensive package. 5N452R2 can handle a wide range of environments.
 
5N522R2 is a tall determinate variety with a nice plant width. This Group 5 variety features tolerance to root-knot nematode, stem canker and frogeye leaf spot. 5N522R2 offers strong emergence and good height for tougher soils.
