New Zealand - Amendment to IHS 155.02.06: Importation of Nursery Stock
New Zealand
August 21, 2014
The Ministry for Primary Industries (MPI) has issued an amendment to the import health standard (IHS) 155.02.06 Importation of Nursery Stock under section 24A of the Biosecurity Act (1993). The IHS, dated 18 August 2014, replaces the earlier version of the standard dated 11 June 2014. The revised IHS is available to view on the following website:

Note: please refresh your browser to ensure you are viewing the most recent version of the IHS.
The changes to the IHS are a result of recent emerging risk assessments that have identified that ornamental species of nursery stock may be hosts of Potato spindle tuber viroid (PSTVd). Specific measures for PSTVd have been added to the following schedules in the IHS:
- A new schedule for Chrysanthemum; which applies to all species of Chrysanthemum and Argyranthemum previously imported under the Delphinium schedule
- A new schedule for Diascia; which applies to all species of Diascia previously imported under the ‘Basic’ Conditions
- A new schedule for Solanum; which applies to all species of Browallia, Brunfelsia, Calibrachoa, Cestrum, Fabiana, Iochroma, Nierembergia, Petunia, and Scopalia, previously imported under the ‘Basic’ Conditions
- An updated schedule for Dahlia; which applies to all species of Dahlia
The new requirements will come into effect on 1 September 2014.
