Naktuinbouw testing the effect of seed priming on DUS testing

Naktuinbouw Variety Testing is trialling the impact of primed and non-primed seed in DUS testing on behalf of CPVO. Around 20 interested people visited the trial last Friday. Seeds of aubergine and tomato rootstock were provided by the industry for this trial. Germination power and resistance tests were also carried out. The research is not yet complete, but so far all the signs are that DUS testing can also be performed with primed seed.
