SeCan donated over $41,000 to 4-H in Canada through the “Grow a Leader” program that ran in Ontario, Manitoba and Quebec.
“Grow a Leader” was created to support leadership development for rural youth through 4-H. SeCan committed to donating $1 per unit for SeCan Genuity® Roundup Ready to Yield® soybeans ordered between October 14 to 21, 2013. The final donation was determined when early orders were reconciled with sales this spring.
According to Jeff Reid, SeCan General Manager, “This was a perfect opportunity for SeCan seed retailers and their customers to make a difference to 4-H in their communities. Most farmers know they’re going to plant soybeans, and ordering during the “Grow a Leader” week had the added bonus of a contribution to the development of young people who are responsible, caring and empowered to be successful.”
“4-H Canada is very fortunate that SeCan understands the importance of building strong, young leaders,” said Shannon Benner, CEO of 4-H Canada. “We are very proud of our reputation as a leading positive youth development organization in Canada.”
SeCan is pleased to announce the “Grow a Leader” program will be offered again this fall. $1 per unit will be donated to 4-H for SeCan Genuity® RR2Y soybeans ordered during October 13 to 20, 2014. Farmers are encouraged to contact their local SeCan seed retailer, order on-line at www.secan.com, or call 866-797-7874.
