Marrone Bio Innovations, Inc. (MBI), (Nasdaq:MBII), a leading provider of bio-based pest management and plant health products for the agriculture, turf and ornamental and water treatment markets, today announced that Scott Peoples has joined the company as its Vice President of Marketing. In this role, Peoples will be responsible for driving demand creation of MBI's suite of products to farmers and growers across the agriculture industry. He will also provide leadership in product management and business development activities.

A 19 year veteran of the agriculture industry with 29 years of business experience, Peoples joins MBI from BASF where he served in several roles, including marketing manager, business development manager, global strategic marketing manager and most recently, Senior Global Business Manager for Herbicide Tolerance. Prior to BASF, Peoples held several positions at Monsanto, including field representative, and marketing and business manager of a Monsanto subsidiary focused on application equipment. Prior to his time in the agriculture industry, he spent nearly 10 years in the laboratory robotics industry with DuPont, Tecan, and as a founder of Leap Technologies. Peoples has a chemistry degree with a minor in biology from the University of Delaware, and an MBA from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill Executive program.
