Arysta LifeScience launches new Everest herbicide in Pakistan

Karachi, Pakistan
October 7, 2014

Arysta LifeScience recently announced the launch of EVEREST® 2.0 SL in Pakistan. Containing flucarbazone-sodium as its active ingredient, EVEREST 2.0 SL is a new herbicide chemistry for cross-spectrum control of both grasses and broadleaf weeds in wheat.

“If not controlled, weeds can decrease wheat yields by 25 to 35 percent, depending on weed density,” explained Amir Jafri, Country Manager – Pakistan, Arysta LifeScience. “The cross-spectrum weed control of EVEREST 2.0 will help maximize yields on the estimated 8.9 million hectares in Pakistan where wheat is grown.”

Having conducted in-house trials and more than 500 field demonstrations, the company says it is targeting to reach 30,000-45,000 acres (12-18 hectares) of wheat this season.

Arysta LifeScience is one of the world’s largest privately held crop protection and life science companies with 2013 revenues of US$1.6 billion. An entrepreneurial provider of crop protection and life science products in more than 125 countries worldwide, Arysta LifeScience specializes in marketing and distribution of respected crop protection brands and life science products that meet the needs of our global partners.
