AUSVEG has today launched a special export edition of ‘InfoVeg Radio’, the second Research and Development focused podcast produced specifically for Australian vegetable producers.
“This edition of InfoVeg Radio features interviews with international experts speaking about how Australian vegetable growers can enhance their exporting opportunities,” said AUSVEG Manager of Industry Development and Communications, Mr Andrew White.
AUSVEG is the leading horticulture body representing Australia’s 9,000 vegetable and potato growers.
“This edition focuses on the opportunities and barriers relating to exporting vegetables and provides tips for growers looking to expand their markets,” said Mr White.
“Exports are becoming increasingly important for Australian vegetable growers due to domestic oversupply and decreasing profits,” said Mr Andrew White.
InfoVeg Radio has been developed to enable growers to access the latest industry R&D while on-the-go.
“In this edition’s feature interview Koppert Cress CEO Mr Rob Bann, discusses the inspiration behind his innovative micro greens company,” said Mr White.
“The podcast also features Colmar Brunton’s Qualitative Specialist, Megan Ferguson, who discusses findings from Project Harvest, the vegetable industry’s consumer research study, and the importance of provenance to consumers when purchasing vegetables,” said Mr White.
“Additionally Mr Bill Morgan, Managing Director of Cognition Research, discusses the findings of his recently completed project, identifying the market opportunities for Australian vegetables in China,” said Mr White.
InfoVeg Radio is available to stream online or download via the AUSVEG website (www.ausveg.com.au/infovegradio), or via iTunes.
Growers who have tractors equipped with a USB input in the cab stereo, such as those in the John Deere range, can also listen to the programs while out in the field.
This communication has been funded by HAL using the National Vegetable Levy with matched funds from the Australia Government.
