ZEN-NOH and INCOTEC present their ThermoSeed co-operation to Dutch King and Queen.

Tokyo, Japan
October 31, 2014

The Dutch company, INCOTEC, and the Japanese concern, JA Zen-Noh, made a presentation of their cooperation before officially signing their first agreement in the presence of King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima of the Netherlands in Tokyo during the Royal State Visit to Japan.

JanWillem Breukink of INCOTEC Group and Mr. Nakano of Zen-Noh sign the agreement in the presence of King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima of the Netherlands.

As one of seven Dutch-Japanese collaborations, the INCOTEC-Zen-Noh partnership was presented to the Royal couple during the Food & Agribusiness Conference organized by the Rabobank.

The agreement signed between INCOTEC and Zen-Noh reinforces their cooperation on the widespread introduction of INCOTEC’s sustainable ThermoSeed technology for the disinfection of rice seeds in Japan.

ThermoSeed is an environmentally friendly technique used to free seeds from harmful diseases using only hot humid air. The technology has been successfully used for many years in several European countries for crops such as wheat. Beside the eradication of all kinds of diseases including fungi, bacteria and nematodes, this disinfection method also has positive effects on germination speed and uniformity.

Mr. Nakano of Zen-Noh: “In collaboration with INOCTEC, we have completed several years of trials on rice seed in Japan and both companies believe that its introduction will help Japanese growers achieve a more sustainable rice production using less plant protection products”.

JanWillem Breukink of INCOTEC: “We are very excited and eager to work with Zen-Noh to make ThermoSeed the disinfection method of choice for the Japanese rice seed producer. And of course we are very proud to be able to mark this important milestone in the presence of the Dutch King and Queen.”
