RootShield Plus from BioWorks, Inc. approved for sale in California

Victor, New York, USA
December 4, 2014

BioWorks, Inc. is pleased to announce that RootShield® Plus+ WP and RootShield Plus+ Granules have been approved by the Department of Pesticide Regulation (DPR) for sale in California. RootShield Plus, EPA registered in August 2011, is an advanced formulation of their currently registered biological fungicide, RootShield®.

With this enhanced formulation, RootShield Plus provides preventative control of major root diseases including Phytophthora. It also controls diseases caused by Pythium, Fusarium, Rhizoctonia Thielaviopsis and Cylindrocladium - with improved suppression of the aggressive hot-season Pythium.

RootShield Plus is registered for indoor and outdoor root disease control on greenhouse and nursery ornamentals, herbs, vegetables and fruits, and has a 0-day Pre-Harvest Interval (PHI) and a 0-hour Restricted Entry Interval (REI) - the lowest REI of all biological fungicides. One application can last up to 12 weeks.

It is OMRI listed and is compatible with fertilizers, algaecides, insecticides, disinfectants, miticides, herbicides, growth regulators, and many fungicides.

"California growers have been eagerly awaiting approval of this product," noted Matt Needham, BioWorks' West Region Technical Sales Manager. "The wide range of crops RootShield Plus can be used on and its proven success in protecting against root rot, have lead to its high demand," he added.

BioWorks products are available from horticultural distributors across the country. Matthew Needham (209-351-1664) serves as BioWorks' representative for the Western U.S. region.
