BreedIT Corp., through its Israeli subsidiary, BreedIT Ltd., the exclusive worldwide license holder and distributor of highly sophisticated agro-breeding solutions software for plant breeders and researchers, today announced that it has entered into a pilot agreement for its BreedIT Mobile™ with Vilmorin & Cie.
The recently-launched BreedIT Mobile™ is a cloud-based service and mobile app designed to help breeders and growers be more efficient in field and other remote locations. This simple, yet powerful tool enables breeders to utilize tablets and smartphones to collect plant phenotypes and other information critical to the breeding process. The offline capabilities enable users to view and analyze collected and historical information on plots, as well as record new observations, such as plant traits and images, while in the field. The app also provides for automatic or manual synchronization into any breeding system.
Under the terms of the agreement, BreedIT Ltd will integrate the mobile platform to work with the Synergene Seed systems already being used by Vilmorin's Ha'zera and HM-Clause business units.
Pierre Campiglia, Head of Scientific Information Systems at Vilmorin & Cie commented on the agreement: "With more than 600 R&D users located in more than 30 countries, we need a robust system to harness the data collected by our breeders and field trial employees. After evaluating the leading mobile agriculture solutions, we selected BreedIT for their promising solution based on superior architecture and state of the art user interface, which will be evaluated in real conditions in spring 2015 by 10 breeding teams in Europe and Israel"
