Potato Research Today: New potato web site launched

Dear Potato Friends,

I am happy to inform you that we have launched the third in our series of "Potato Today" web sites: Potato Research Today - www.potatoresearchtoday.wordpress.com. The site is an online information resource providing breaking news updates for those interested in current international potato research developments. It is also a companion site for the other two Potato Today sites - Potato News Today and Potato Talk Today.

Canada: Using research drones to increase potato production

Research potato harvest GoPro style

UW-Madison College of Agricultural and Life Sciences is home to one of the world’s leading potato development programs. Much of the work on potatoes is done at the Hancock Agricultural Research Station in central Wisconsin. Former student, Ryan Curtin visited the station while they harvested the potato research plots and produced the video.

UK: Potato cyst nematode research and conference at Harper Adams University College

Researchers at Harper Adams University College are investigating whether temperature and climate change affect the growth of a common potato pest found in two thirds of the UK’s crop fields – potato cyst nematode. Around 60 delegates from 16 countries have gathered at Harper Adams University College for the third Potato Cyst Nematode Conference.
