American Takii announces hiring of Logistics & Manufacturing Manager

Toshi Ueda will join American Takii, Inc. in the newly created position of Logistics & Manufacturing Manager to support the distribution center currently under construction and a key element of the global Takii seed distribution strategy. Toshi will manage three key functional areas for American Takii including logistics, seed production and manufacturing.

Toshi has been an employee of Takii for 34 years following his graduation with a degree in Horticulture in 1981 from Shimane University, Matsue, Shimane Province, Japan. Toshi started his career with Takii as a Leafy crop Breeder and first came to Salinas in 1985 to breed lettuce and broccoli. After 4 years as a breeder, he transitioned to seed production becoming American Takii’s Production Manager in 1992. Toshi returned to Japan in 1999 but in 2004 became General Manager of Takii France where he resided for 5 years.

American Takii, Inc. is the North American subsidiary of Takii & Company, Ltd of Kyoto, Japan and is celebrating its 180th Anniversary in 2015.  Takii produces and markets some of the world’s finest flower and vegetable seed varieties.
