Pinnacle Agriculture Holdings announces the acquisition of Liebl Ag, LLC

Ada, Minnesota, USA
April 9, 2015

Pinnacle Agriculture Holdings, LLC (“Pinnacle”) has successfully acquired Liebl Ag, LLC (“Liebl Ag”).  Operating as part of Pinnacle’s Performance Agriculture™ brand, the new location will be a full-service agricultural input retailer specializing in the sale of seed, crop protection chemicals, fertilizer, precision agriculture services and other related services.

Specializing in sugar beets, corn, soybeans and wheat, Liebl Ag was founded in 2007 by Franny and Margaret Liebl, providing seed and a full line of liquid fertilizers to local farmers.  As value-added services, Liebl Ag also offers on-farm deliveries and custom side dressing applications.

“My wife and I recently decided to sell our business and begin a new venture.  Our customers are very important to us, so we naturally wanted to ensure that they continue to receive the same level of service and integrity upon which Liebl Ag was built,” said former owner Franny Liebl.  “Performance Agriculture is a perfect fit, and they will also enhance the selection and availability of products and services to help our growers with successful crop production.  Performance Agriculture is committed to customer success and customized solutions for every farm.  Other than a new name and new branding, the transition should be practically seamless.”

Performance Agriculture’s newest location will remain at 2601 West Main Street, Ada, Minnesota 56510.  Franny Liebl will remain as operations manager through June 30, 2015.  Jay Merkens, who has been with Liebl Ag since 2012, will assume the role of operations manager on July 1, 2015.  All other employees of Liebl Ag will retain their current positions under the new ownership, and Brock Blakeway and Matt Larson have recently joined the team to provide customers with additional agronomic services and solutions.

“We are truly excited about expanding our business into the state of Minnesota and look forward to partnering with area farmers,” said John Sorby, Regional Business Director for Performance Agriculture.  “We believe in building lasting partnerships by providing only the very best products and helping customers make effective input decisions.  We look forward to continuing the excellent service that Liebl Ag has provided area farmers for the past eight years.”

Ada, Minnesota is Performance Agriculture’s fourteenth retail location across eight states offering seed, custom fertilizer blends, and crop protection products, as well as award-winning OptiGro® precision agriculture services.
