Corporate Responsibility Magazine names Monsanto one of 100 Best Corporate Citizens in 2015

St. Louis, Missouri, USA
April 20, 2015

Corporate Responsibility Magazine (CR Magazine) named Monsanto Company to its 100 Best Corporate Citizens List for 2015. This is the sixth time Monsanto has been included in the magazine’s ranking of top corporate responsibility performance of major U.S. companies.

“We are honored to be recognized as one of the best corporate citizens by CR Magazine,” said Jesus Madrazo, Monsanto Vice President of Corporate Engagement. “This recognition is a testament to our employees and the farmers, researchers, nonprofit organizations, universities and many others working alongside us to develop a broad range of solutions to sustainably grow enough food for a growing world.”

Monsanto’s commitment to stakeholder engagement, the environment, addressing climate change through adaptation and mitigation, and increasing transparency regarding its operations were essential in the company making this year’s list.

“More and more people are joining the conversation about food. We’ve taken significant steps to increase our transparency and engage in open conversations about how food gets from farm to table, and the role we play along the way,” said Madrazo.

The 100 Best Corporate Citizens List documents 303 data points of disclosure and performance measures—collected from publicly available information in several key categories. The list ranks the Russell 1000 Index. Visit www.thecro.com to access the full 100 Best Corporate Citizens List.

Third-party organizations continue to recognize Monsanto as a good corporate citizen and an employer of choice. In 2015, Monsanto has been recognized as a Great Place To Work® in eight countries, as one of the World’s Most Admired Companies by Forbes® Magazine, and as one of the Best Places to Work for LGBT Equality by Human Rights Campaign. In addition, in 2014 Monsanto was recognized as one of the World’s Best Multinational Workplaces, a Great Place To Work in 10 countries, a Top Employer by Science Magazine, one of the Top 50 Companies for Diversity®, and one of the world’s 50 Smartest Companies.
