Liu Wei, the Managing Director of Bayer CropScience Vegetable Seeds China, gave a general business presentation which gave the visitors a clear introduction to our company and brand. After that, four crop sales managers (Tomato: Tian Kemeng; Pepper: Zhao Zhiyun; Cucumber: Zhang Fan and Watermelon & Melon: Bao Jiqoqi) gave a general introduction to their crops with the major varieties. They especially focused on the varieties to be introduced: pink tomato Fen Yan TOF and sugar baby seedless watermelon Style WMW, and varieties that are just commercialized; a new hot pepper NUN 60049 PPH, and a new cucumber NUN 10523 CUA.

During the introduction Tian Kemeng mentioned that each variety of Bayer CropScience Vegetable Seeds was selected very carefully. For example, new variety Fen Yan has been trialed for many cycles and in different areas, and as a consequence it performs very well with high resistance of TYLCV, Stemphylium (Grey Leaf Spot), and Mi,Mj,Ma (Root Knot Nematode). Fen Yan also has a very good fruit quality and cracking tolerance and it has been accepted by both growers and traders.

In addition, vegetable crop manager Tony Liu from Bayer CropScience introduced a tomato solution called “More Tomatoes”, which is provided by our tomato team and the vegetable crop teams of Bayer CropScience. This project aims to support tomato growers with practical information on cultivation of the crop and disease management solutions.

After the introduction, the visitors visited our demo field with our crop teams. The visitors could take a good look at the crops, especially at the focus varieties. During the event we successfully promoted our brand with five varieties and our organization as a specialized company with good varieties. We will find other good opportunities to continue this win-win situation with our customers in the near future.
