SGS United Kingdom Ltd. showcasing unique seed, crop and biofuel services at Cereals 2015

London, United Kingdom
May 11, 2015

SGS United Kingdom Ltd, one of the world’s leading seed and crop service organisations will be showcasing its range of unique agricultural services at Cereals 2015 – the UK arable industry’s premier technical event.

Consumers want assurance of safety and quality at every stage of the process from field to fork and SGS can deliver this through a wide range of cost-effective services that reduce risk, add value and improve productivity.

This year at Cereals in Boothby Graffoe near Lincoln on 10-11 June, SGS agricultural specialists will be providing information about their seed testing and development services, seed and grain analysis and sustainability practices including biofuel and renewable energy services.

“We are one of the big players for seed and crop services. We offer accurate seed analysis to remove doubts of unknown seed quality, as well as analyses of purity and germination to determine causes of abnormalities and detect diseases” said Marc Willis, UK Business & International Project Manager - Seed & Crop Services at SGS.

SGS also provides extensive expertise in sustainability practices covering the inspection, sampling and testing of biofuels, audits and certification.

“Biofuels and Biomass production is an area that has enabled growth and diversification in the UK agricultural industry. Crops and crop residue as well as agricultural waste are increasingly being used to create biofuels and other sources of renewable energy and it’s important to be able to verify the quality and quantity for farmers. Furthermore, sustainability must be addressed and demonstrated to ensure compliance to the relevant EU/national standards and certification schemes allowing claims to be passed along the supply chain. At SGS we can help with this through our audit, training and certification services,” said Mr Willis.

The SGS exhibition stand 745 will also feature information on crop protection and monitoring, fertility management, soil testing and harvesting, analytical and inspection services, risk management and market research.
