André Goig joins Phenome Networks' Advisory Board - As next generation plant breeding & genomics informatics gain greater prominence in the seed and food industries, a seed and crop protection industry veteran joins the company

Tel Aviv, Israel
July 22, 2015

Phenome Networks, a leading plant breeding management and analytics software provider, today announced that a seed and crop protection industry veteran, André Goig, has joined its Advisory Board.

As a Member of the Advisory Board, Goig will utilize his extensive experience to help Phenome Networks navigate the dynamic bioinformatics market and provide a nuanced understanding of the crop variety development and protection issues that large enterprise customers face today.

Goig is a top-level business executive at the very crossroads of the seed and crop protection industries. He has led major businesses in both industries on global and regional level over a span of three decades, mostly at Syngenta and its predecessors.

In his last role at Syngenta, André was leading its EMEA seed and crop protection businesses, directly seeing the results of improved R&D and leveraging the entrance of genomics into traditional breeding, the fields where Phenome Networks is active.

Yaniv Semel, Chief Executive Officer of Phenome Networks, commented, "We are honored that this very experienced industry leader has agreed to join our Advisory Board. André brings extensive leadership and industry specific experience to foster Phenome Networks’ next growth stage. We expect to benefit from his insights and expertise as we continue to seek to position our Phenome One platform as transformative in the way new crop varieties are identified, developed and eventually commercialized".

André Goig commented: “I am happy to assist a highly innovative company trying to transform the Bioinformatics market. There is a strong need to upgrade software systems in plant breeding and associated genomics”.

André obtained a degree in Economics from ISG Business School in Paris before attending various advanced Executive Education programs at Harvard University and Northwestern University. He was a Board Member of ESA (European Seed Association) and of EuropaBio (European biotech association), which he chaired in his last mandate.
