GRDC embraces the digital age at AgQuip

Australia
August 11, 2015

Grain growers can `hone’ their digital skills during AgQuip and learn new ways to access valuable industry and agronomic information.

The Grains Research and Development Corporation’s (GRDC) social media adviser Pru Cook will be on hand at the GRDC site I/24 to assist growers in the use of smartphones and tablets, social media and other digital tools such as the GRDC GrowNotes modules, GRDC apps and YouTube videos.

Ms Cook said digital resources were evolving to become one of the most valuable tools for the Australian grains industry, enabling growers to instantaneously access up-to-date technical information to assist in crop management decisions and improve productivity.

“A significant number of growers, industry bodies, respected advisors and researchers are now actively jumping online to discuss agronomic issues, seek advice or offer new information,” she said.

“It is an easy way to keep up-to-date with what’s happening in paddocks and labs, both locally and internationally.”

Being held from August 18-20, AgQuip is Australia’s largest and premiere agricultural field day event that attracts more than 3000 companies and in excess of 100,000 visitors over three days.
