August 25, 2015

Dairyland Seed recently announced the release of seven new soybean varieties for the 2016 planting season.  Each of these varieties can be seen at research tours and field days throughout the Midwest this fall.  The descriptions of the new products follow:

Yield with toughness in a new 0.6 RM. Rps3a for protection in adverse environments. Works well in IDC prone soils. Strong SCN package. Nice visual appeal before and during harvest.

DSR-1721/R2Y    Maturity 1.7

Dairyland's newest 1.7 attention getter!! Agronomics of DSR-1710/R2Y with improved yield potential. Great against white mold and IDC. Strong emergence and early vigor establish plant health early. Unique "V" shaped plant stature covers narrower rows with ease. Best suited for mid- to full-season placement

DSR-2110/R2Y    Maturity 2.1

Yield potential is outstanding. Excels in yield and defensive attributes. Scores are top notch in every category we rate!! Rps1c with stellar emergence to promote early growth. You must take a look at this soybean. Introduced as DST21-006/R2Y in 2014 with very impressive results.

DSR-2330/R2Y    Maturity 2.3

Impressive addition in early group 2's. Resistant to BSR. Strong on IDC and WM. Utility-player characteristics with awesome yield punch. Rps1k with strong emergence and standability. Widely adaptable across soils and environments.

DSR-2616/R2Y    Maturity 2.6

Top-end yield potential. At or above the plot average 62% and 67% of the time in 2014 on-farm and university trials respectively. Outstanding early season stress tolerance, emergence & vigor. MR to BSR and Race 3 SCN. Fuller canopy type with abundant lateral branching. Tested very well as experimental DST26-005/R2Y in 2014.

DSR-3250/R2Y    Maturity 3.2

Excels in tough environments. Rps1k and XG3a give this product an early season advantage. Strong resistance to BSR and SCN. Protects against SDS for those early planting situations. Will respond to lower planting populations in higher yield environments.

DSR-3780/R2Y    Maturity 3.8

Unique genetic combination with impressive yield. Rps1c with hearty PRR field tolerance. Excellent charcoal rot & SDS tolerance allows for early planting possibilities. Superior emergence and standability. Excellent one-two punch when combined with DSR-3595/R2Y or DSR-3838/R2Y. Under Frogeye leaf spot pressure a fungicide is encouraged.
