USA - Syngenta grants available for agriculture & science education, and hunger relief

Greensboro, North Carolina, USA
September 15, 2015

  • Syngenta offers grants to community organizations in North Carolina and Minnesota
  • Applications available online
  • Deadline to submit applications: October 9, 2015
Nonprofits with projects that promote agricultural and science education or help relieve hunger are among those eligible for grants of up to $10,000 as part of the Syngenta Community Grant Program. Created in 2002 to support charitable organizations, schools and government agencies, the grants are available in the North Carolina Piedmont Triad and Minnetonka, Minnesota, areas.

Through its Community Grant Program, Syngenta focuses its corporate giving on local initiatives that support important community needs, including: agriculture and/or STEM (Science Technology Engineering and Math) education; hunger relief; and water and land conservation. The program empowers Syngenta employees to select and distribute funds to local non-profit organizations.

The program also supports The Good Growth Plan, Syngenta’s ambitious series of six global commitments to help sustainably address the global food security challenge by 2020. The Syngenta  Community Grant Program is a way to bring The Good Growth Plan to life, by recognizing and supporting local organizations that share Syngenta’s passion for sustainably feeding a hungry world.

Applications for the Syngenta Community Grant Program are being accepted through October 9, 2015, for the 2016 grant year. Applications are reviewed by a Syngenta employee team, which selects recipients based on innovative approaches and solutions, long-term impact and the most efficient use of funds.
