On Wednesday, October 7, 2015, Mr. J.I. Remijnse, residing in Heythuysen, has been awarded with a Royal decoration. The decorations have been pinned up by Arno Verhoeven, Mayor of the municipality of Leudal, the Netherlands.
Mr. Ko Remijnse (65) has been employed by Nunhems BV since 1973 (with approximately 100 employees at that time), successively as international account manager (until 1982), as general sales manager (until 1996) and from 1996 until his retirement on August 1, 2015 as Director of Nunhems Netherlands BV. Since 1998 Ko has been Managing Director Marketing & Sales with a global responsibility, member of the Board of Directors of Nunhems BV, and from 2009 member of the Global Leadership Circle of Bayer AG.
In 1997 Nunhems entered the American and Asian markets on which the company arrived in the top five of the vegetable seeds industry. From 2002 onwards, Nunhems is part of Bayer and from April 2014 the company operates as a global business unit under the name Bayer CropScience Vegetable Seeds.
Through the efforts of Ko Remijnse, the company developed from a regional company to a global seed breeding enterprise, contributing to employment in the Dutch province Limburg and the development of the seed sector in the Netherlands and abroad.
In addition, Ko Remijnse performed and still carries out different social volunteer activities. Ko was chairman of the parent council of the elementary school Heihorst in Heibloem, and secretary / treasurer and then president of the Foundation for Sport Horse breeding in Limburg (about 180 members). He was also president of the Ponyclub Heytse and was actively involved in the organization of the Limburg Championships for ponies.
Since 2010, Ko Remijnse is Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Rabobank Peel, Maas en Leudal (200 employees) and was co-initiator of the merger.
Since 2015 Ko is President of the European summit for Civic Guards 2018 (Europees Schutters Treffen 2018) in Leudal. This event is organized for shooters and guild members from several European countries.
Mr. Ko Remijnse was appointed Officer in the Order of Orange-Nassau. The presentation of the decorations took place during his farewell party as director of Marketing & Sales as well as Director of Nunhems Netherlands BV.
Hoge Koninklijke onderscheiding voor de heer Ko Remijnse uit Heythuysen
Op woensdag 7 oktober 2015 werd aan de heer ing. J.I. Remijnse, wonende in Heythuysen, een Koninklijke onderscheiding uitgereikt. De versierselen werden opgespeld door burgemeester Arno Verhoeven van de gemeente Leudal.
De heer Ko Remijnse (65) was vanaf 1973 in dienst bij Nunhems BV (in 1973 ca. 100 medewerkers), achtereenvolgens als internationaal accountmanager (tot 1982), als algemeen verkoopleider (tot 1996) en van 1996 tot 1 augustus 2015 (pensionering) als directeur van Nunhems Netherlands BV. Daarnaast was hij vanaf 1998 als Managing Director Marketing & Sales, met wereldwijde verantwoordelijkheid, lid van de Board of Directors van Nunhems BV en is hij vanaf 2009 lid van de Global Leadership Circle Bayer A.G.
In 1997 ging Nunhems de Amerikaanse en Aziatische markt op, waarmee het bedrijf in de top 5 van de groentezadensector kwam. Vanaf 2002 maakt Nunhems deel uit van Bayer en vanaf april 2014 opereert het als wereldwijde business unit onder de naam Bayer CropScience Vegetable Seeds.
Door de inzet van betrokkene heeft het bedrijf Nunhems zich ontwikkeld van een regionaal zaadveredelingsbedrijf tot een grote partij op mondiaal niveau, draagt het bedrijf bij aan de werkgelegenheid in Limburg en aan de ontwikkeling van de zaadsector in Nederland en daarbuiten.
Daarnaast verrichtte en verricht hij op maatschappelijk gebied diverse vrijwilligersactiviteiten. Zo was hij voorzitter van de medezeggenschapsraad B.S. de Heihorst in Heibloem, secretaris/penningmeester en vervolgens voorzitter van de Stichting Sportpaardenfokkerij Limburg van de Rijpaardenfokvereniging Limburg (ca. 180 leden). Ook was hij voorzitter van de Ponyclub Heytse en daarbij actief betrokken bij de organisatie van de Limburgse Kampioenschappen voor pony’s.
Betrokkene is vanaf 2010 voorzitter van de Raad van Commissarissen van de Rabobank Peel, Maas en Leudal (200 medewerkers). Hij was mede-initiator van de fusie.
Vanaf 2015 is hij voorzitter van het Europees Schutterstreffen 2018 in Leudal. Dit evenement wordt georganiseerd voor schutters en gildebroeders uit meerdere Europese landen.
De heer Remijnse werd benoemd tot Officier in de Orde van Oranje-Nassau.
De uitreiking van de versierselen vonden plaats tijdens zijn afscheid als directeur M&S én als directeur van Nunhems Netherlands BV.
