The John Innes Centre to showcase at Agritech Week some of the technologies used in science

Norwich, United Kingdom
October 14, 2015

The John Innes Centre is showcasing some of the technologies used in science, as part of Agritech Week. We are partnering with the Royal Norfolk Agricultural Association (RNAA) and Agritech East for the event, which takes place on 12th November at JIC.

As well as remote-controlled flying cameras, which survey plant growth and development, JIC is also using in-field imaging to capture some of the intricate measurements of individual plant growth in the field. Farmers are also increasingly using cameras to monitor crop performance, and this event will give both an opportunity to see other applications and share good practice. The event will also provide a unique opportunity for people from food production, farming and science to hear from Lord Haskins of Skidby (former chairman of Northern Foods and Express Dairies) who is giving a thought-leadership lecture on the agri-food industry, and contribute to the ongoing dialogue between science and agriculture in the region.

Tickets for the event are priced at £15 for Friends of John Innes Centre and members of the Royal Norfolk Agricultural Association. Guests and non-members are £20.

The event starts at 4pm at the John Innes Centre Conference Centre, Norwich Research Park, Colney Lane, Norwich NR4 7UH, with tea and coffee on arrival and a hot buffet from 6.30pm to the event close at 8pm. For more details see http://rnaa.org.uk/agri-tech-week/

Places are limited - to buy your ticket, contact Freya Pywell at RNAA on 01603 748931 or email freya.pywell@rnaa.org.uk

The RNAA’s sponsors for the event are M+A Partners, Lloyds Bank and Howes Percival.
