DuPont Pioneer appoints veteran leader to run its consolidated business in Zimbabwe - The merged entity will retain the strong Pannar and Pioneer brands in the country

Harare, Zimbabwe
October 22, 2015

DuPont Pioneer today announced the appointment of Temba Nkatazo, as Country Manager for its seed business in Zimbabwe. Nkatazo’s appointment is effective immediately and follows the confirmation of the Competition and Tariff Commission of Zimbabwe’s approval to implement their agreement for Pioneer Hi-Bred (Zimbabwe) (Private) Ltd. to acquire the assets and liabilities of PANNAR SEED Zimbabwe. Customers will continue to do business directly with the sales teams from both brands just as they did before the acquisition.

“Temba brings extensive expertise and experience to the role,” said Prabdeep Bajwa, DuPont Pioneer Regional Director, Africa. “I am confident that he will drive our strategy to continue to help farmers significantly increase agricultural productivity and food production through improved crop yields.”

In his new role, Nkatazo will oversee the business’ commercial operations and will provide leadership to the DuPont Pioneer and PANNAR SEED brands in the market.

“I am very excited about the business’ future and look forward to the growth and opportunities this merger will yield for our employees and customers, “said Temba Nkatazo, Country Manager, DuPont Pioneer Zimbabwe. “I look forward to working with the team to build on the strong relationship that the two brands enjoy with our loyal and valued customers in Zimbabwe.”

Nkatazo joined PANNAR SEED, then Savana seed, in 1986 as a small scale marketing officer and has served in several leadership positions. Prior to his new role, Nkatazo also served as the Country Manager for PANNAR SEED Zimbabwe, where he established the company’s position as leading crop seed producer and supplier in the market.

He brings in significant expertise and a proven track record of performance of over three decades, along with a strong educational background. Nkatazo is a marketing Graduate of Wye College University of London. In addition, he also holds a Master of Science Degree in Leadership and Change Management from Leeds Metropolitan University in the United Kingdom. He is also currently studying for a Master’s degree in Business Administration with Cumbria University through Robert Kennedy College of Switzerland, as well as a Master of Laws degree in business law with the University of Liverpool in the United Kingdom.
